vampire diaries: who does elena end up with?

i love the vampire diaries! in the books, who does elena eventually
end up with?

i think she will prob end up with stefan, but i think she should end
up with damon!

if she does end up with stefan, what happens to damon? who does he end
up with? i wouldnt want the dude to end up alone, still crazy in love
with the doppleganger haha
